Theadoore (Providence, RI)

Theadoore, formed in itty bitty Rhode Island, makes experimental pop music for brothers to hold hands to. Singer/guitarist Grace Ward (Houndsteeth, Queen Crony, Birthday Ass), and drummer Tristan Brooks (Beverly Tender) both studied jazz, and one of them even got good at playing it. Theadoore is not jazz, but the band’s complex harmony and rhythmic freedom make for passable fake-jazz. The third member, Grace L-S (Or Best Offer), plays Bass VI, and everybody gets a turn to push the sampler. For fans of: fake-jazz, imitation folk-metal.

Goblynne

Goblynne is the artpop project of composer, writer, and comedian molly kirschenbaum (they/them, if you can believe it). Their debut album, based on their award-winning Fringe Festival solo show, Hot! :(, is set to be released in early 2023. You can currently find kirschenbaum playing bass for singer-songwriter Claud, or sitting in their studio apartment, thinking about something weird they saw once, or something.
