The Skull, Olden Yolk & Mega Bog, A Hawk and A Hacksaw, Resident Roundup Summer Series: Making Time

It’s Wednesday, your first beacon of hope that, in fact, the weekend is nearing! But in the spirit of this glorious, creative, and constantly spinning city, we refuse to just live for the weekend. Instead, we believe in tropical drinks and danceable music 7 days a week and so can you.

Tonight we share our stage with some legendary doom metal pioneers, better know as The Skull. Don’t miss out as these three former Trouble members share some classic Trouble tracks, in addition to a bunch of new material. Thursday we’re joined by Olden Yolk, as they deliver a mix of infectious and eclectic 60s inspired folk-rock with pals Mega Bog. Plus there’s still time to commit to an enriching Friday evening with A Hawk and A Hacksaw, as well as recently added bonus, Lonesome Leash, the solo project from Walt McClements of Dark Dark Dark and Hurray for the Riff Raff. If you’ve ever wondered if you could get down and dance to accordion music, we’re here to tell you the answer is funk yes, and Lonesome Leash will prove it and leave you spellbound. Here’s a teaser!

Come cut a rug with us this Saturday afternoon for the third edition of our Resident Roundup & Garden Jamboree Summer Series, presented by This Is Who We Are Now! We’ll be enjoying Aperol Spritz drink specials and getting down with dance party afficienddos Making Time with Dave P and special guests, Peaking Lights at this free shindig. For the love of day-drinking, outdoor dance floors, and all things fun, don’t forget to RSVP! We’ll see ya there.

For those of you looking to making a day of it, tease that hair up and throw on some leg warmers, as the festivities continue Saturday night with That Big 80s Party! We know the Prince / Madonna / Blondie in you can’t be tamed and needs a place to unwind to some Tears for Fears. Be our guest!

There’s nothing quite like some good ole American Country music to hit that Monday sweet spot, so make sure to catch Brett Amaker and The Rodeo on 6/18. Tuesday is our pick of the week with Houston’s Get a Life serving up tunes with Pastel and Duster Lizzie. Lend your ear and take a listen.

Now for some just announced shows… you ready? Jeff Weiss curated rap party, Don’t Come to LA, will return to Resident on 6/28 with performances from Dâm-Funk, Jay Worthy, and more. In July we just added shows from Honeychild on 7/11, Brian Hill & The Noh Starrs on 7/26, and Trophie on 7/30. We’ve also got a few late-summer treats that are new to our calendar with Clay Rendering on 8/1 and Necrot 8/16.

There’s plenty more where that came from, so get excited! Summer never sounded better.
